May all be for nothing because i can't get anyone to let me try it out, and i'm only accepting female applicants from among people i know. It's my machine. Sue me. Jet-ski being started on a lake in florida. Microphone on dock directed at jet--ski, jet-ski driven fast away for about 75 yards, slowly turned around, driven back to shore at more moderate speed. Engine turned off when it reaches shore, waves from jet-ski also heard. (when jet-ski reaches shore it is off axis for the microphone). Seadoo 2 stroke engine. Rode ntg-2, sound devices mix-pre, zoom h4n.

Tabla is percussion instrument with two drums 'daya' and 'baya'. Only the 'daya' drum is usually tuned. For checking the tuning the 'na' bol is played. Recorded using samson-go portable condenser mike at home. Placing the mike too close to tabla was clipping the sound and if placed away, it was not picking the extended resonance. Hence the mike was moved closer after attack, hence the apparent increase in amplitude and some doppler effect is seen.

This is a short clip of a chainsaw starting up, idling for a few seconds, then being revved up to cut a small log for a few more seconds before idling again. Contains idling and revving of a single-stroke engine. Recorded accidentally with an iphone in a pocket, so it's slightly muffled.

This sound is of a stick (bo staff) swinging fast. It was recorded using a zoom h1 with the foam windscreen. The clip was cleaned up in adobe audition cs6.

I opened the door and stood in the doorway to record the wind. You hear leaves rustling on the floor and every now and then the wind accidentally gets into the mic as i don't have a wind screen. You hear a little howling as well as some squeeking noise through it.
